Nuria Tesón is an independent journalist and writer based in the Middle East since 2009, currently residing in Egypt. She specializes in covering conflicts and human rights issues, particularly those affecting women and children. Her reporting includes events across the region and Africa, such as the wars in Sudan, Libya, and Iraq, the Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip, the Arab Springs, and the migration crisis at Europe's borders and in Libya.
She coordinated the book "Balas contra la infancia," which focuses on children in conflict and includes her writing about Gaza. She is also a co-author of "Sin habitación propia: Mujeres sin hogar de norte a sur" (2022, libros.com) and "El Alma del Mundo" (2012, Lunwerg), published with her collective Masteson. Tesón’s work has appeared in various media outlets, including Al Jazeera, Foreign Policy, Deutsche Welle, France 24, RFI, Cadena SER, La Sexta, El País, Esglobal, and CNN.
As a lecturer and speaker, she collaborates with organizations such as UCSD, UNESCO, and UNITAR. In 2023, she participated in a UN-hosted roundtable at COP28 in Dubai, discussing the links between peace, climate change, and water, and addressed the impacts of water scarcity and sanitation issues on vulnerable populations at World Water Week.
Tesón is also involved with the Water for Climate Pavilion, focusing on solutions for challenges in climate change and water management. Through her reporting and advocacy, she aims to highlight the experiences of those affected by conflict and environmental crises, promoting a better understanding of these issues and sustainable solutions.
